Glitter Pattern

(to use as Pattern in PSP)

[Glitter pattern used in images above]

First I'd like to mention that wile the pattern can be made in PSP7, it can't be saved as a pattern because PSP7 requires a bmp fprmat for pattern files - so it has to be saved in psp format and opened when you want to use it;  pattern files for PSP8 are saved in the pspimage format which will allow this image to be saved as a pattern file.

Step 1
New image.

Step 2
Flood fill with white.

Step 3
Add noise with setting of 3% and random.

Step 4
Using magic wand tool, click on a white space in the image and press the Delete key, then deselect.

Step 5
Duplicate the layer;  flip and mirror the image.

Step 6
You want to increase the color depth on the top layer.  From the color menu, chooseAdjust and Brightness/Contrast;  set brightness to -40 and contrast to 20 - or choose your own settings.

Step 7 - OPTIONAL
You can skip this step if you don't have the variations plugin and adjust the color another way or just leave it as it is.  If you have the variations filter, I chose more blue, more magenta, and darken twice.

Step 8
Now merge the two layers into one.

Step 9
Save your file in PSP7 to a folder you keep special fill patterns as in PSP format, as image below.  In PSP8, save the image to the PSP8/Patterns folder in pspimage format.

Step 10
Load any tube image you desire in a new image and set your paintbrush medium to size 35 and set the painting material to pattern that you created.  In PSP7, the pattern must be open - in PSP8, it would not have to be open.  Use the paintbrush to apply your glitter arount the edge of your tube and anywhere else you may want it.

The finished image will show the glitter and the results will depend on how much glitter you add.  The image at the top have just a few brushes of glitter - I added more on this one to show the difference.
