Grande Background Tile

step 1:
I started with a paint brush and drew these lines (had no idea
what I would end up with) and added a slight drop shadow.
step two:
select all, set selection
step three:
*repeat 5 times with a different color each time.
add new raster layer, select fill color, expand selection by 3, flood fill selection with color,
drag layer down 1 layer, leave selected - now looks like this
step four:
deselect; add new raster layer and flood fill with another color for
background; merge visible - now looks like this
step five:
used Simple's quick tile filter (a free filter set) - now looks like
this
step six:
applied a filter from another free filter set called Kang2, filter name =
the grand design using defaults - now looks like this
step seven:
added new raster layer; filled with white and pulled the layer down
1; activated the color layer and used slide to lower opacity to a setting
I liked for a background (I like light colored back ground for having text
over them and medium to dark for tiles to be used as trim)
this is medium - I saved in psp format and named it SliderBackground so I
can pull it back sometime and change the depth of color
I used the tile to make this ornament.
**Ornament**
I used the PSP 'circle' filter to get the round circle
selected all and set selection and rotated left/right by 90 degrees
opened a globe image, copied it and closed it
added a new layer and pasted the globe bubble into selection
then I used the deformation tool to make sure the bubble covered the ornament completely, added a layer for the ornament cap tube and added a layer for the tassel ** actually, I made each rope drawing on it's own layer so I could add just a touch of drop shadow for shading.
