'Me'

Step 22
Time for some pants!  ( or the skirt )     New to PSP?  Take it one step at a time and remember the 'UNDO' keystrokes - Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and press the 'Z' key to 'undo' the last step.  The number of steps you can 'undo' depends on what your 'preferences' are set to in PSP.

Regardless of which tool you are using, from this point on you need your cursor set to precision tools.  Match these settings in the Tool Options of any tool and they are set for all tools.

We are going to make the pants using the draw tool;  select it now.
Change the settings in the tool options to match these and remember, all setting used are up to you if you need to change something.  The settings I've used are merely to step you through the process the first time.

Step 23
If you are going to make the skirt, this is where you depart.    SKIRT
Add a new layer and name it 'pants' or 'skirt' depending on which directions you are going to follow.
SAVE file.

Step 24
Maybe you can see the cluster tool in the image below where I show the starting point for the pants.  When drawing a straight line, if you can do that ( I can't most of the time ), it looks like a ladder and when you move to the right or left with your line, the lines start twirling.  You'll see what I mean.  Start the line making sure that the brush outline is inside the hip line of the butt image, then draw a slight curve keeping the right edge inside or even with the outline of the hip line and then straight down.  If necessary, you can go back to the tool options and switch the 'freehand' setting to 'point to point'.

then do the same thing to the other side so that you have something that resembles the image below.  You could 'copy/pase' if you wanted to but I prefer that the legs not be exactly the same.  Switch to the freehand selection tool        and set the tool options to 'point to point'.

draw a line to cut away the rounded ends of the pant legs and just leave a slight curve as in the image below..

Using the same tool or switching to the rectangle selection tool, make a selection line around the pant legs and click to set the selection.

SAVE file.

Step 25
Use the 'cutout' filter on the pants, using the same settings as before.

Step 26
In the 'Layers' palette, the 'pants' layer is active.  Click on it and drag it down between the 'seatrim' layer and 'Layer1'.

Your image should now have the legs draping over the front of the page as in the image below.

Step 27
Your pants or skirt are made.
In the 'Layers' palette, activate the 'butt' layer by clicking on it.

We want to add a drop shadow to the bottom of the butt using the settings below

In the Layers palette, activate the 'back' layer

Step 28
Time to put your head into it!
Add a new layer and name it

Set color for your hair.  I used a picture of me and clicked the color picker over a medium strand to get my color for the finished image on page one.  Make sure the color you choose is showing in the background/fill style.

SAVE file.

Step 29
Using the 'freehand' selection tool set to 'point to point',   click out a hair shape.  I used my hair shape as very long and for this one I used shorter so give you and idea of the shape.  Flood fill it with the color you chose.

Apply a cutout filter to it using the settings below.

Step 30
The image to the left shows the color that it chosen and the small circle about the color picker is what it is currently showing.  To choose the blend color, I move just a little ways straight down from the first color.

I brushed blotches of the new color over the old

then I selected the 'retouch' tool
Using these settings with tools still set to precision and outline shape so I can see where the edge of the tool is going to be.  (I ALWAYS leave my tools set to precision and outline shapes).

Now I just blend and bounce back and forth between the paint brush and retouch tool until I have something looking like strands of hair.  I decrease the size of the paint brush each time I add a lighter color.  Some where in the middle of blending this one, I noticed the swirls were taking on the look of a French twist hair style, so I added a swirl in the back.

I used a pearl tube to add decoration and the hair is done.

Hair is a tuffy;  you'd better take a break while I prepare the next page.
