Moons and ideas from my Buddies
this tutorial is meant to be a stepping stone and not an exact science
. . . the moon was hard for me to figure out . . . been trying for
several years to just get close but never managed one I could remember
the steps I used until now and the least little variation gets me
something totally different each time . . . where there is
determination, there just MIGHT be a way . . . .
here are moons created by my PSP Buddies and a few of their ideas and fixes:
1. another idea for the haze by Gigi: I made a copy of the moon and hit the Blur button several times. The I resized
the "unblurred" version by 5 percent, and copied and pasted it over the blurred
version as a new layer. Then I reduced the Opacity for the blurred layer until I
had what I wanted.

2. another way for the haze by Margaret: I don't have Eye
Candy 400, I just have the demo that came with my download of Eye Candy
3.1 and the corona filter will only work if I buy it and I sure can't
do that. So, I used the Glow filter in Eye Candy 3.1 for my corona. The
settings that I used are:
Width [Pixels] 200, Opacity - 60, Opacity Drop-off -
Fat, Color - R - 223, G - 194, B -
153.

the free version of Eye Candy 3 available here . . . . under the tutorial menu.
3. mine: playing with the carona . . . DON'T be afraid to
play with your filters and I am sorry this filter isn't free, I loath
writing tutorials for filters that aren't free, but it IS what I used .
. .. on the first one, I played with the settings and added some
wave, then changed the tint to a bluish white; on the second
one, I resized the merged moon, increased the canvas size to
enormous and turned the size of the carona way up . . . same moon
on both though . . .
