This tutorial was written using Paint Shop Pro 7.

You will need to download these selections and save them in a folder of your choice.

Open a new image 550 x 550 on a transparent background.

Go to SELECTIONS - LOAD FROM DISK and browse to the folder you saved these selections into and open the 2-legs.sel, fill with your choice and deselect. I used #A16969.

On the same layer open the 3-legs.sel and go to COLORS - ADJUST - BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST changing the brightness to 25 and the contrast at 0, deselect. You could skip this part if you are using a pattern.

Still on the same layer, open the 4-legs.sel and adjust the brightness again, changing the number to -75, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 5-shoes.sel, fill with your choice and deselect. I used #875347

On the same layer open the 6-shoes.sel and adjust the brightness again with the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer open the 7-shoes.sel and fill with a lighter color, I used #CCA49C, deselect.

Still on the same layer open the 8-shoes.sel and fill with a lighter color, I used #E0C6C2, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 9-shirt.sel, fill with your choice, I used the same as the legs. Adjust the brightness on this to -50 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 10-dress.sel, fill with your choice, I used #48687E and deselect.

On the same layer open the 11-dress.sel and adjust the brightness to 25 and deselect. Again you can skip this one if you are using a pattern, or you can fill the selection with any color you want instead.

Still on the same layer open the 12-dress.sel, fill with white and deselect.

Still on the same layer open the 13-dress.sel and adjust the brightness -65 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 14-bearleg.sel, fill with #BC7E60 and deselect. Go to EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - CUTOUT with the settings below.

Go to EFFECTS - NOISE and add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer and open the 15-bearbody.sel, fill with the same color and deselect. Apply the same cutout changing the blur to 50, add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer, open the 16-beararm.sel, fill with the same color, deselect and apply the same cutout changing the blur to 40, add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer and open the 17-hands.sel, fill with #DFB193 and go to SELECTIONS - INVERT and then EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - DROP SHADOW with these settings...

Vertical = -4
Horizontal = 4
Opacity = 85
Blur = 15.3
Color = #B37B55

Deselect and open the 18-hands.sel and adjust the brightness -30. Deselect

Add a new raster layer and open the 19-sleeve.sel, fill with your choice, I used #A16969 and deselect.

On the same layer open the 20-sleeve.sel and adjust the brightness -65 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 1-hair.sel, fill with #CD915F and deselect. On the same layer open the 21-hair.sel and fill with the same color, deselect.

Use the retouch tool with both LIGHTEN & DARKEN RGB with the settings below.

Use the LIGHTEN RGB to add some highlights by making small strokes on the hair like you are brushing her hair :-)

Then use DARKEN RGB the same way to add a little shading.

Add a new raster layer and open the 22-hairties.sel, fill with your choice, I used a sunburst gradient and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 23-hair.sel, fill with the same color used for the hair, deselect and use lighten and darken rgb to add the same highlights and shading here too.

Add a new raster layer, open the 24-hair.sel and repeat the same steps.

Add a new raster layer, open the 25-hair.sel and repeat the same steps.

Add a new raster layer, open the 26-hair.sel and repeat the same steps. You should have something like this....

Add a new raster layer and open the 27-ties.sel and fill with the same color/gradient you used for the other hair ties and deselect.

On the same layer open the 28-ties.sel, fill with the same and deselect.

Still on the same layer open the 29-ties.sel, fill with the same and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 30-bearhand.sel, fill with the same color you used for the bear and deselect. Apply the same cutout as before changing the blur to 25, add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer and open the 31-bearhead.sel, fill with the same, deselect and apply the same cutout changing the blur to 35 and add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer and open the 34-bearmuzzle.sel, fill with the bear color, deselect and use the same cutout changing the blur to 25. Add 3% uniform noise and adjust the brightness of this layer to 25 also.

Add a new raster layer and open the 34-bearnose.sel, fill with black and deselect, use the same inner bevel and the same blur as the eyes.

Add a new raster layer, open the 35-bearleg.sel, fill with the bear color, deselect and use the same cutout changing the blur to 40, add 3% uniform noise.

Add a new raster layer and open the 36-bear.sel and fill with #4D3427, deselect and apply a gaussian blur of 1 and you are finished.
