The image you create by following this tutorial belongs to you and you may do whatever you want with that.
This tutorial was written using Paint Shop Pro 7.

You will need to download these selections and save them in a folder of your choice.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP and the tools needed.

Remember to save your image often.

Feel free to use the tiles below if you want.

I used a pretty big canvas size for her, open a new image 400 x 700 on a transparent background

Go to SELECTIONS - LOAD FROM DISK and open the 1.sel, fill this with the hair tile of your choice. I used the one above called hair3.jpg at a scale of 100%. Deselect by hitting CTRL+D on your keyboard.

On the same layer, SELECTIONS - LOAD FROM DISK and open the 2.sel, fill this with your skin color, I used #F2C6A0 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 3.sel. Fill with the same skin color and deselect. Go to EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - CUTOUT using the settings below.

Vertical=6 Horizontal=0 Opacity=100 Blur=25 Shadow Color=#C9986E Fill Color=#F2C6A0

On the same layer, open the 4.sel and fill with a darker skin color. I used #DCAA79. Deselect.

On the same layer, open the 5.sel and go to COLORS - ADJUST - BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST changing the brightness to -25 and the contrast at 0. Deselect.

On the same layer, open the 6.sel and go to SELECTIONS - MODIFY - EXPAND and expand by 3. Fill this selection with your cheek color, I used #F9A68F and deselect. Then go to EFFECTS - NOISE and add 3% uniform noise to the head so far.

Still on the same layer, open the 7.sel and fill with your lip color. I used #DC8A74. While still selected use the retouch tool at Darken and Lighten RGB with these settings...

Shape=Round Size=3 Hardness=0 Opacity=35 Step=10 Density=100 Lighten Darken RGB

Use DARKEN RGB to seperate the top and bottom lip and LIGHTEN RGB to add a little highlight on the lips...

While still selected go to EFFECTS - BLUR - GAUSSIAN BLUR and use a blur of about 1 to soften the lips a little and then deselect.

Still on the same layer, open the 8.sel and fill with black, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 9.sel, fill with your choice for her legs and deselect.

On the same layer, open the 10.sel and go to COLORS - ADJUST - BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST changing the brightness to -55 and deselect. (You may need to change that number depending on the pattern you are using)

Add a new raster layer and open the 11.sel, fill with your choice for her shoes. I used #9B8367 and deselect.

On the same layer open the 12.sel and adjust the brightness (SHIFT+B) to -65 and deselect.

On the same layer open the 13.sel and fill with your choice for the laces, I used #524230, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 14.sel, fill with your choice of pattern/color for her dress and deselect.

I messed up here :-) so this looks kinda strange but it turns out ok.... On the same layer open the 25.sel, you will see a selection for the arms but they are not there yet... Adjust the brightness again -65 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 15.sel, fill with your choice and deselect.

On the same layer open the 16.sel and adjust the brightness (SHIFT+B) -45 and deselect.

We are not going to use the 17.sel because once again.... I messed up! :-) So just ignore that one...

Add a new raster layer and open the 18.sel, fill with your skin color, I used #F2C6A0, and deselect.

On the same layer open the 19.sel and fill with a darker skin color, I used #E8B482, and deselect.

On the same layer open the 20.sel and fill with the same darker skin color and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 21.sel, fill with your skin color, I used #F2C6A0, and deselect.

On the same layer open the 22.sel and fill with the darker skin color, I used #E8B482, and deselect.

On the same layer open the 23.sel and fill with the same darker skin color and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 24.sel, fill with the same pattern/color you used on her dress and deselect.

On the same layer, open the 25.sel again and adjust the brightness -65, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 26.sel, fill with your choice for the big bow on her head, I used the same pattern as her dress, and deselect.

On the same layer open the 27.sel and adjust the brightness (SHIFT+B) -65 and deselect.

On the same layer open the 28.sel and fill with the same pattern/color. Deselect.

On the same layer open the 29.sel and adjust the brightness using the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer open the 30.sel and fill with the same color/pattern. Deselect

On the same layer open the 31.sel and adjust the brightness using the same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the 32.sel, fill with the same pattern you used for her hair and deselect.

On the same layer open the 33.sel and fill with the same pattern for her hair... And you are finished!
