This was made using Paint Shop Pro 7
We
will be making this santa from scratch.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of psp and the tools
needed.
I
used a pretty big canvas size for this and there are a lot of steps involved
remember to save often
I used a canvas size of 500 x 950 on a transparent background
I make all the shapes first and then go back and do the shading
I used preset shapes ellipse with a fill color of #40415E to make one leg.

Add a new vector layer and make the other leg the same way

Using freehand draw with vectors checked make the shoes on a new vector layer, I used #6C4F3F for the fill color

Use freehand draw vectors and a fill of #825D4C make the bottom of his shoes on a new vector layer.

Using a fill color of #402F26 make some straps on the shoes, new vector layer

Change the fill to null and the stroke color to #CFB07D and use preset shapes rounded rectangle with a line size of about 4 to make the buckles on his shoes

Use a fill of #9D3737 and preset shapes or freehand draw to make one side of his coat on a new vector layer

Use the same color and settings to make the other side of the coat on a new vector layer

Change the fill color to #BEA699 and I used freehand draw to make the trim on one side of his coat on a new vector layer

And do the same for the other side on a new vector layer
