This was made using Paint Shop Pro 7

You will need to download these selections and save them in a folder of your choice. Included in the zip file is his hair.

Here are the colors we will use for this, save this and open it in psp for reference. I will refer to them by the numbers. To pick the color, open the color pallet and simply click on the suggested color to choose it.

Here are the patterns I used for this, save these and minimize them in PSP.


Open a new image 350 x 600 on a transparent background

Go to selections - load from disk and browse to the folder you saved the selections into and load the 1-neck.sel, fill with the color #1 and deselect. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout with the settings shown below.

Add a new raster layer and load the 2-leg.sel, fill this with a color of your choice, I used #D1C191 to match the pattern I am using for his shirt. Deselect.

On the same layer, load the 3-leg.sel and go to Colors - Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift-B) and change the brightness to -55 and the contrast to 0. Deselect. You may need to adjust those numbers depending on the color/pattern you are using.

Still on the same layer load the 4-leg.sel and adjust the brightness (Shift-B) using the same settings as before and deselect. You could skip this part if you are using a pattern or do not like the lines....

On the same layer load the 5-leg.sel and fill with the same color/pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 6-leg.sel and adjust the brightness using the same settings. Deselect.

Same layer load the 7-leg.sel, adjust the brightness, same settings, deselect. Here is mine...

Add a new raster layer and load the 8-boot.sel, fill with color #6 and deselect.

Same layer load the 9-boot.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings, and deselect.

Same layer load the 10-boot.sel and adjust the brightness = 60 and deselect.

Same layer load the 11-boot.sel and adjust the brightness = -55 and deselect.

Same layer load the 12-boot.sel and fill with color #4 and deselect.

Same layer load the 13-boot.sel and fill with color #6 and deselect.

Same layer load the 14-boot.sel and adjust the brightness = -55 and deselect.

Same layer load the 15-boot.sel and adjust the brightness = 60 and deselect.

Same layer load the 16-boot.sel and adjust the brightness = -55 and deselect.

Same layer load the 17-boot.sel and fill with color #4 and deselect. Here are my boots...

Add a new raster layer and load the 18-shirt.sel, fill with your choice, I used the shirt pattern above at 100%, deselect.

On the same layer load the 19-shirt.sel and adjust the brightness = -40 and deselect... Again you may need to change this number depending on the color/pattern you are using.

Same layer load the 20-shirt.sel and adjust the brightness = -55 and deselect.

Same layer load the 21-collar.sel and fill with #D1C191 or a color that matches and deselect. Here's mine so far...

Add a new raster layer and load 22-pants.sel, fill with the jeans-pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 23-pants.sel and adjust the brightness = -65 and deselect.

Same layer load the 24-pants.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings, deselect.

Change your foreground color to #4 and the background to null. Use the draw tool with the settings shown below to add some stitches on his pants.

Add a new raster layer and load the 25-bear.sel, fill with the brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 26-bear.sel and adjust the brightness = -65 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 27-bear.sel, fill with the same pattern and deselect.

On the same layer load the 28-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings, and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 29-bear.sel, fill with the same pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 30-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 31-hand.sel, fill with color #1 and deselect.

Same layer load the 32-hand.sel and fill with color #2 and deselect.

Same layer load the 33-hand.sel and fill with the same color #2 and deselect.

Same layer load the 34-hand.sel and fill with color #1 and deselect.

Same layer load the 35-hand.sel and fill with color #2 and deselect.

Same layer load the 36-hand.sel and fill with the same color #2 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 37-sleeve.sel, fill with the same pattern/color you used for his shirt and deselect.

On the same layer load the 38-sleeve.sel and adjust the brightness = -65 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 39-sleeve.sel and fill with #D1C191 or a matching color and deselect.

On the same layer load the 40-sleeve.sel and fill with your shirt pattern/color and deselect.

Same layer load the 41-sleeve.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings, and deselect.

Same layer load the 42-sleeve.sel and fill with #D1C191 or matching color and deselect...

Add a new raster layer and load the 43-bear.sel, fill with the brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

On the same layer load the 44-bear.sel and adjust the brightness = -65 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 45-bear.sel, fill with the same pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 46-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 47-bear.sel, fill this with the light-brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 48-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 49-bear.sel, fill this with the brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 50-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 51-bear.sel, fill this with black and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 52-bear.sel, fill with the light-brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 53-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 54-bear.sel, fill this with black and deselect.

On the same layer load the 55-bear.sel and go to Selections - Modify - Feather = 2 and fill with white. Deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 56-bear.sel, fill with the light-brown.jpg pattern and deselect.

Same layer load the 57-bear.sel and adjust the brightness, same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 58-ears.sel and fill with the color #1 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 59-ears.sel and fill with the color #2 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 60-head.sel, fill with the color #1 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 61-head.sel and fill with the color #2 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 62-head.sel and fill with the color #3 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 63-head.sel and fill with the same color #3 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 64-head.sel and fill with the color #5 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 65-nose.sel, fill with the color #1 and deselect. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow with the settings below.

Vertical = -2
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 12.3
Color = color #3

Add a new raster layer and load the 66-mouth.sel, fill with the color #3 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 67-teeth.sel and fill with the color #4 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 68-mouth.sel and fill with #404040 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 69-highlight.sel and fill with the color #4 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the 70-eyes.sel, fill with white and deselect. Use a drop shadow with the settings below.

Vertical = -3
Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 100
Blur = 8.6
Color = Black

On the same layer load the 71-lashes.sel and fill with black, deselect.

On the same layer load the 72-eyes.sel and fill with black, deselect.

On the same layer load the 73-eyes.sel and fill with #84A3BE and deselect.

On the same layer load the 74-eyes.sel and fill with #404040 and deselect.

On the same layer load the 75-eyes.sel and fill with white, deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open up one of the hair.psp files included in the zip. I am using the hair2.psp and go to Edit - Copy and then Edit - Paste on the boys head and you are done!
