This tutorial was written using Paint Shop Pro 7.

You will need to download these selections and save them in a folder of your choice. The eyes and mouth are included in the zip.

Here are the different tiles I used.



Here are the skin colors I used, I will be referring to these by the numbers on them


Open a new image 500 x 450 on a transparent background

Go to "selections" "load from disk" and open the head_tail.sel fill with the white tile and deselect.

On the same layer, "selections" "load from disk" and open the head_tail_shade.sel, go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" and change the brightness to -50 deselect

On the same layer, "selections" "load from disk" and open the head_tail_stripes.sel and fill with the black tile. Deselect

Add a new raster layer and load the body_leg.sel fill with the white tile and deselect.

On the same layer load the body_leg_shade.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer, load the body_leg_stripes.sel fill with the black tile and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the sleeve_1.sel fill with the white tile and deselect.

On the same layer, load the sleeve_1_shade.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer, load the sleeve_1_stripes.sel fill with the black tile and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the foot.sel fill with the white tile and deselect.

On the same layer open the foot_shade.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

Add a new layer and open the ears_feet_pads.sel fill with the pink tile and deselect.

On the same layer open the ears_feet_pads_shade.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and load the hands.sel fill with the skin color #1 and deselect.

On the same layer open the hands_light.sel fill with the skin color #4 and deselect.

On the same layer load the hands_fingers.sel fill with the skin color #3 and deselect.

On the same layer open the hands_shade.sel fill with the skin color #2 and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the sleeve_2.sel fill with the white tile and deselect.

On the same layer load the sleeve_2_shade.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer open the sleeve_2_shade_2.sel go to "colors" "adjust" "brightness/contrast" using the same settings and deselect.

On the same layer open the sleeve_2_stripes.sel fill with the black tile and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the head.sel fill with the skin color #1 and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_light.sel fill with the skin color #4 and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_shade_1.sel fill with the skin color #3 and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_shade_2.sel fill with the skin color #2 and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_shade_3.sel fill with the same skin color and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_shade_4.sel fill with the same skin color and deselect.

On the same layer open the head_shade_5.sel fill with the same skin color and deselect.

On the same layer open the cheeks.sel fill with the color #5 and deselect.

Now open the cgface.psp file included in the zip go to "edit" "copy" and back to the tiger child go to "edit" "paste as a new selection" and use the mover tool to drag it into place and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the hair.sel fill with the hair tile and deselect.

Add a new raster layer and open the hat_edge.sel fill with the white tile and go to "selections" "invert" and then "effects" "3d effects" "drop shadow" using these settings and deselect.

And you are done!
