This is my first tute so I hope you can understand it *giggle*
I am going to try doing this tute without the pictures so it loads faster, if you have problems with it please let me no and I will add the pictures of everything.
Needed for this tute:
Paint shop pro, eye candy, preset gradient red candy (Place in your PSP Gradients folder)
Open up a new image 300 pixels wide 300 pixels in height. transparent background, 16.7 million colors (24 bit) you're going to resize it latter. Being bigger is just easier to work with *S*
click on you're line tool
and set it for "point to point"....."stroked"....."30
width" antialias and vector unchecked, then set your
forground to white..... then click the shape you want the
candy cane to be, it can be any shape you want it to be.....It will look something like this
Once done click on the top of your new image and you
should see what you have, if you don't like the shape
then hit the undo button ( I always do) hehe and redo it

Once your happy with the
shape of your candy cane, then go to your magic wand
...tolerance
0 feather 0 and click on the white to make the ants dance
around it.
Click on your flood fill
bucket
, go to linear gradient.....blend mode normal...opacity
at 100 paper texture none , match mode none. Then click
the second tab and look for "red candy" adjust
the angle to what looks good to you (it varies with the
shape) the ones I have up right now it was set at 263 but
that varies with the shape you make, set the repeats to
one. Now flood fill your shape.
Now go to eyecandy.....inner bevel.....and set the setting to Bevel width "14".....Shape "button" smoothness "4" .....Shadow depth "33".....Highlight Brightness "100".....Highlight sharpness "32" .... Direction "125"..... Inclination "79" and if you want to you can click on the black tip pencil and put in "candycane" to keep the settings *S* and your finnished.
You can color it a different color by going to colors....adjust....hue/ saturation/ lightness till you get the color you want.
You may want to resize it, I resized mine by 60% which is size 74 by 154 and then sharpened it and then made it into a tube.
You can do any shape you want, I took a heart I made and put it on a different layer, then added another layer and then followed the pattern with the line tool and did the rest (above) and then deleted the heart and came up with this *S*
